The Fujikawa kōka nursery is a top-class bonsai nursery located in Arita city (
有田市) not far from the former Kansai airport of Itami. You will find
there many many kokufu class trees, some of them really famous. A must
see, look at the gallery
for a quick look. Note that though it may not
be apparent on the pictures most of the trees are really big. The Fujikawa kōka nursery has a home page there.
Mr Fujikawa is willing to take an apprentice that can speak at least a
little japanese.
How to get there
Take a local train (普通) on the Takarazuka Main Line (宝塚本線) at the
Hankyu Umeda station (the Hankyu main station close to JR Osaka
station). Get off at Ishibashi station (石橋駅). Take the west exit, turn
right in the shopping arcade. At the end of the arcade, you are at (1)
on the map below. Take right under the bridge, to go to (2). Then take
left (west) along the big street. At the end of the precinct of a
school on the left, you'll arrive to a crossroad (3) with a Daihatsu
dealer a little further on the right (this Daihatsu dealer is not to be
mistaken with the very big Daihatsu factory immediatly close to
Fujikawa kōka nursery and shown in the map of the its home page), take
left and head south until you reach a slant surelevated highway (thick
green line on the map). Turn to the right to the "circle K "
convenience store and take the small street just in before the shop
(A). Fujikawa kōka nursery entry is just after the big traditional
japanese house home to Mr Fujikawa.
